The Overture Institute Brand Statements 2020*

Discovering You Living Your Life

Effective date: July 2020

Responsibility and Value Commitment

The Overture Institute is grateful to have the opportunity to lead and participate in deeply impactful work.  We value kindness as a lens through which all of our work is done.  We also recognize the importance of naming and committing to responsible and sustainable choices in every area of our work.  Therefore, we will strive to choose products, venues, vendors and partnerships with those who are in alignment with our values.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Overture Institute recognizes the importance of clearly articulating a commitment to creating Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the work of the Institute, our relationships, our personal behavior and our participation with the greater world community.  We value transparency and clarity throughout the organization and will continue to apply these principles to each and every facet of our work.  We are committed to continued growth and learning both as individuals and as an organization.  We recognize that this work is not always comfortable, but is necessary and, with kindness, we will endeavor to maintain forward, proactive engagement.

We define these areas as:

Diversity: state of acknowledging, representing, respecting and celebrating the differences among us.  Differences can be psychological, physical, and social.  They include but are not limited to race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, socioeconomic status, education, marital status, language, age, gender, sexual orientation, mental or physical ability, caregiver status and learning and/or communication styles.

Equity: the guarantee of fair treatment, access, opportunity and advancement for all in matters that affect their lives by striving to acknowledge, identify and break down barriers that have prevented the full participation of those disadvantaged due to their race, creed, gender, color, sexual orientation, national origin or income.

Inclusion: creating and nurturing spaces and processes intended to make all individuals, organizations, and/or communities feel welcomed, respected, supported, valued, safe, and part of a collective purpose.

*it is crucial that we remain open to growth, and to adjusting as needed.  It is with this intention, and the lens of our statements above that we will continue to evolve as people, and as a brand.
